Recruit a Friend and get £10!

31/01/2018

There, now I have got your attention let me explain.

West Cheshire Unison needs your support to make sure your job, pension and your terms and conditions are being protected.

You are already a member of the largest public service union, and therefore you already know the benefits of being a member.  We need to make sure that as many people as possible can benefit, as you do, from belonging to UNISON.  In order to do this, we are running a recruitment campaign from 1st February until 1st April 2018.

Here’s how it works!

1. You recruit a new member using the application form and recruit a friend slip attached - print off extras

2. You get £10 High Street Voucher

Why does your friend need to join?

The public sector, and therefore Cheshire West and Chester Council, continues to face unprecedented cuts.  It is unlikely anyone will have faced change on this scale in his or her working life.  UNISON is the leading trade union negotiating with the employer.  We have the backing of around 4,000 members across the organisation and we want to make that number bigger.

The more members we have, the stronger we are!   CWAC is being hit by a double whammy;

• Central Government Cuts – believe it or not they have not finished yet!

• Ongoing re-organisation

This Branch – Current Involvement

In this branch we have already secured better conditions for many of our members, and campaigned to protect conditions hard won over many years.  We have supported, guided and assisted members through the long process of Local Government Review and continue to do so.  We are actively
• Fighting to save jobs and services across the organisation
• Undertaking crucial negotiations shaping the future of Local Government in CWAC
• Fighting to secure better pay and conditions for our members as they move to outsource
• Challenging unfair actions by the employer affecting our members
• Advising members on TUPE rights and seeking to protect them where challenged
Current and Emerging Threats
• Threats to key frontline and support services resulting in job losses
• Stress on members forced to work harder, for less
• Continual Restructuring
